Women's Self-Defence & Empowerment Workshop

This is not your typical self-defence class.

Yes, you'll learn real, effective physical techniques, skills that work regardless of your size or fitness level, drawn from over 30 years of martial arts training. But what makes this workshop different is what happens before, underneath, and beyond the physical.

A woman's greatest strength is her mind. When you know how to access it, in a stressful situation, in a threatening moment, in a boardroom or a car park, the physical techniques become almost secondary. You become hard to intimidate, not because you've memorised moves, but because something has shifted in how you carry yourself.

That shift is what this workshop is designed to create.

Your instructor, Martin Lang, brings over 30 years of martial arts experience to this workshop, including a 4th Dan black belt in Taekwondo and a 2nd Dan in Hapkido. But what sets this workshop apart is what he brings from the coaching room.

What the workshop covers

Physical Defence

Simple, effective martial arts techniques that work against someone bigger and stronger than you. In martial arts, it's not about strength; it's about skill, positioning, and knowledge. You don't need to be fit, strong, or experienced. You just need to show up.

Emotional Defence

Under stress, the thinking part of the brain can shut down, and having physical skills means nothing if you freeze. We teach you techniques to stay present and focused when it matters most, so you can act clearly under pressure.

Psychological Defence

Using NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming), you'll learn to access your own inner resources in any challenging situation, whether physical or everyday. Power you already have, that you may not know how to reach yet.

Transformational Coaching

Empowerment comes from within. You already hold capabilities you may not be aware of, let alone able to access. This part of the workshop is about letting go of the beliefs that have kept you small, and walking out knowing that you are more than you thought.

Practical details

  • Open to all women, no fitness level or prior experience required

  • A safe, confidential, and judgement-free space

  • Please wear loose, comfortable clothing and flat shoes

  • Bring a notepad, a pen, and an attitude of curiosity

  • Limited to 16 participants per workshop

  • $165 per person (inc. GST)
